Cyclone Anaya's brief tips.
Ok so if you are in the Oaklawn area and are craving Mexican then look no further thatn Cyclone Anaya's. They're a Houston based restaurant that opened up here in Dallas. The decor is awesome as is their ambience, which is pretty upscale.
Start with the margaritas, which are either $7 for a small and $14 for a large but trust me they are well worth it. Start with the crab nachos. Oh please start with the crab nachos they are awesome! It is an orgasm in your mouth. For your entree go with the Lobster Enchiladas which come topped off with a delicious chardonnay cream sauce.
Service can be hit or miss but after a few ritas you won't even mind. Go for the food and the drinks and enjoy it with some friends. Cyclone Anayas is overall a good experience. It could be better but in this Tex Mex infested city some of the uniqueness it brings is really appreciate it. Their menu is definitely worth you checking it out.

Let's Rumba! Mattitos Rumbarita review.

Ok so I was out and about with some friend painting the town red, and decided to stop for drinks at Mattitos. This short review is about Mattitos Rumbarita. Let me tell you, I seldom drink margaritas but the weather was nice and I was in the mood for one. I am glad I tried this rita.
The Rumbarita is Mattitos special rita and the menu says the limit is two. It is a margarita made frozen or on the rocks with Sauza Gold Tequila, Blue Curacao, and lemmon and lime juices. This margarita looks and tastes awesome, but do not let the pretty look fool you as it will kick you in the rumba lol. All in all I had to write this to let the Metroples know about this margarita if you did not already know. Go, drink two and be happy.
GoodByFernando! opinion: You're not already drinking one? What is wrong with you!?

Review of Mr. Mesero: MIco is back!
Well, where to start with this review on Mr. Mesero? I mean really where to start? I don't mean this in a bad way. Oh no, not at all. I mean, where to start since there is an enormous amount of good things to say.
We all know Mico, founder of Mi Cocina and Taco Diner and great Dallas restauranteur. Well he did it again. Yes we all lost track of him for a while after the MCrowd fallout, but he's back, and back with a vengeance. Mr. Mesero lets you, "Enjoy the space. Enjoy the food. Enjoy Each other.", and by all means that is what we did.
I went with a group of four that was no stranger to either Mi Cocina or Taco Diner, and let me tell you, we were all excited for what was in store. We arrived on a Monday at around 6:45 p.m. and were promptly seated. The cutest chips(and yes i did just write cutest, go and tell me that that is not the correct term for them) arrived at our table with a selection of chips and salsa. Marisol, our waitress, arrived within thirty seconds of us being seated and greeted us in a great homely and welcoming way.
Of course we all had to have an "El Santo" which is Mr. Mesero's take on the sangria swirl, and let me tell you that aside from strong, it tasted awesome. As we were in no rush we decided to start with the "Queso Mesero" and the "Nachos Conocidos". First came the Queso Mesero, wich was a delicious blend of melted cheese, spinach, artichocke, and roasted poblanos. Let me tell you that I love my queso dips, and this blew every other single queso dip I have eveer tried out of the water by far. The Nachos Conocidos, which consist of black bean, cheese, brisket, avocado slice, red jalapeño, and crema, were also delicious. I mean so delicious that we had to have another order.
For my main course I had the "Katie Steak" which I opted for the filet cooked rare of course, while my date had the "Tacos de Pescado". The steak came out the perfect amount of rare to my liking(and not to be picky but this is the only way that I will eat my steak) and melted in my mouth with every single bite that i took. My dates tacos must have been amazing, because she is a way pickier eater than I am and there was absolutely nothing left on the plate when she was finished. Our other two friend got the exact same thing we did and both agreed that it was FANTASTIC.
We were all stuffed, but then something Mico said caught our interest: "Would you like to try a piece of five leches cake?" Yup, you read right. Not three, not four, but five leches! I must tell you, that cake threw a party in my mouth and the whole Metroplex was invited!
We all enjoyed this visit and agreed that Mr. Mesero Rocks. Kicks Ass. Is the bomb diggity. You fill in the rest with which ever other phrase you feel like but i highly recommend it. Good job Mico, Dallas welcomes you back.

Gloria's... Hate it or Love it.

Ok so this review is going to be
difficult since I’m reviewing another Dallas giant…Gloria’s(keep in mind that I
am reviewing Gloria’s as a whole. If you want a specific location reviewed feel
free to leave a comment).
Gloria’s
is a concept that fascinates me due to the fact that it is a mixture of
Salvadorian and Tex-Mex foods. While it is a weird concept I must say Gloria’s
pulled it off. From the moment you enter Gloria’s you feel a good vibe about
the place. The hostesses smile, and everyone says hello and makes you feel
welcome. As soon as you sit down there is a bus boy there to great you with not
only chips and salsa, but also a tasty black bean dip and literally seconds
later your server arrives to get your drinks going.
While
at Gloria’s you need to get alcohol in you. They do offer happy hour and both
house margaritas(frozen or on the rocks) are four bucks. The house margaritas
are not very good, tasting like cheap tequila and cheap sweet and sour but they
will come back and kick your butt. Seriously, these margaritas are strong and
for four bucks hit the spot. The mojitos here are not only refreshing but also
strong and really good. The mojito is one of my favorite drinks of choice
whenever I dine at a Gloria’s. Now, if you think you are a Big Kahuna and like STRONG drinks the Great Gloria’s
Meltdown or GGM is for you. It is 16oz of frozen house margarita, sangria, and
grand marnier that tasted deliciously dangerous.
Service is top notch about 75% of the time and the other 25% is understandable since it only happens at peak hours.

The
food at Gloria’s is decent at best. Enchiladas lack flavor, tacos are mediocre
at best, and they use cheap cuts of meat
like flank and skirt steaks. Prices are moderately on the steep side for the
quality of the food they provide but you are paying for the ambience after all. If you are here for
dinner and not just for drinks or to hang out, then I highly recommend the
quail. You get two quails and some fried plantain with sweet cream with it that
tastes awesome. Also the shrimp cocktail is delicious here. If you want to try something traditional from
El Salvador, try the popusas(gordita style with cheese inside or pork and
cheese). They are priced at a dollar fifty per and the servers might look at
you as a cheap ass but trust me they are good.
Well
ya’ll, hope you enjoyed this review and you go and try Gloria’s. Remember GGM,
Mojito, pupusas, and quail. Your welcome.
GoodByFernando! opinion: TRY IT!

My Review on cafe Gecko. Enjoy
Are you into cool, friendly, and fun little dive bars? If
you answered yes to the question, then I want to introduce you to café Gecko.
Located in the same shopping center as Vernon’s Grille on the corner of Belt
Line and Montfort in Addison, TX, stands café Gecko.
This
café style bar offers a great beer selection. A lot of import beer as well as
some good domestics and some Texas brewed beers. Just so you know beer prices
are bit on the up side here so if you are looking for a buzz you’re better off
spending a few extra dollars for your liquor of choice(which is a bit on the
steep side as well). This quaint café offers some good bar games as well such
as darts, Buck Hunter, PGA tour golfing simulator, and some game where there’s
a string line with a hook at the end and you are supposed to hook it t this
thing on the wall(sorry for the vague description, but on another note every
time I have been there the people playing it seem to have a blast).
I
haven’t tried any food there except for their world famous seafood nachos,
which are excellent. You get chips piled with a variation of seafood topped off
with this awesome sour cream sauce that makes you orgasm in your mouth every
time you take a bite. This place is a great place to hang out, have a few drinks(or
get plastered if you’re anything like me lol) and chat for a while. It is also
a great pre dinner spot if you are on a date.
Well
everyone that has been my review on café Gecko. I hope you enjoyed it and until
next review time, this has been a GoodByFernando! Review. Namaste.
