Well my new audience, I recently discovered this Irish pub style Mexican restaurant/bar right across from The Jewel Hotel in Downtown Dallas, and yes, you read right Irish pub style Mexican restaurant/bar. The menu is not your regular Tex-Mex menu, oh no. It is rather clever to say the least. You can have ribs, a sirloin burger, hell even a hot dog covered in queso. You can also get a USDA prime Filet Mignon with a Mexican twist if that's your thing. Of course you can also create Su Plato, where you can pick 2,3, or 4 combinations that are more on the Tex-Mex side. Menu looks good and although I only tried the ribs which are to die for, and the burger which is a huge delicious monster of ground up sirloin(10oz). Oh and the chips though store bought are salty and limey, to accompany a watery but decent tasty salsa. Not great quality there but I have had worse, way worse. On to the water of the goods, the sweet sweet nectar we cal alcohol. House margaritas(frozen or on the rocks) taste nastily similar to Gloria's but are equally as strong and with happy hour from 4-7 Monday through Friday they cant be beat. They also offer a full bar and both a selection of white and red wines. Finally the ingenuity of the desserts is what pushed me to keep writing further into this review. The fried ice cream is a must and so are the apple cinnamon sizzling fajitas.
All in all if you are looking for a good happy hour in the downtown area or just an awesome place to watch sports in their numerous gigantic screens then this is the place for you. Until next time this has been GoodByFernando!
